Don’t say I didn’t warn you…
The Smart Student Secrets community has grown a ton over the years but there has been something brewing in the back of my brain and I haven’t liked the smell of it. We’ve been getting plenty of new people involved (and that’s cool.) The numbers all look great with thousands of readers. But… something was wrong.
For every new reader we got – the participation we got from those readers didn’t seem to increase.
And I don’t do this for numbers. I don’t invest hours of my life into this stuff to increase a number. I invest my life into this to try and help people. I want to find the students like me and get them on the right path – earlier in life than I did.
That’s why I’ve decided to change things massively. Part of that will affect you.
I’m realizing – I can’t help people that aren’t seriously interested in getting that help. I’ve just removed nearly a third of the people subscribed from this newsletter based on their non-participation. And that’s just the beginning.
If you don’t enjoy these email and absolutely love the idea of improving yourself then please remember the unsubscribe button on the bottom of this email. No hard feelings. I’d love to help you if you’re interested in being a part of the team but I need to focus my energy on the people I know I can help.
With that – please participate if you want to be a part of the new tighter Smart Student Secrets community. What does that mean?
- Open the emails
- Read them!
- Click on the links
- Reply to them (even if it’s just to yell at me.)
And if you ever stop getting these emails then feel free to come back to Smart Student Secrets and resubscribe. That would certainly confirm your interest.
What does this change mean for you?
- More focused messages
- More responses
- (Probably) more of a social media presence
And one more thing that’s super important…

Please check out this survey. It’s like 8 questions and should take you 2-3 minutes to fill out. It’s going to help me hone in on what you guys are really interested in. If you start this survey – expect a special thank you email later this week.
Anyway… I’m interested in hearing any ideas you have to improve this community. My goal is to make it smaller – and more effective.
Better grades shouldn’t be a chore. It should be a pleasure.

Leave Procrastination In The Dust! Never EVER let it stop you again.
Doing stuff is easy – sometimes, right?
You only procrastinate the stuff that sucks. You don’t say, “Ahhh… I’ll read that text from my crush later.” Nope. Now… Any pause is intentional and coordinated to respond better.
Here is the problem with academics:
You probably think most academic stuff sucks – at least a little. (Especially compared to other things you could be doing.)
And the thing is:
FORCING YOURSELF TO STUDY JUST MAKES IT WORSE!
You’re slowly hardening your association of school and being miserable.
You need to create positive associations with academics. You want your brain to be getting hyped up and positive when you’re thinking about studying and giving into this internal oligarchical instinct to force yourself to studying – ain’t helpin’.
Chill the internal dictator for a moment…
A big secret: You need to STOP forcing yourself to study so much.
But, if you’re not forcing yourself then how are you going to see those killer straight-a’s that you’re always pining over?
It’s not difficult but it can sound weird to unfamiliar eyes.
It only costs $4.99 (and if these strategies don’t work like magic like it has for thousands of other students then you can get a full refund.)
